Recently, Team Trackier visited Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, in Delhi. Samarthanam is a non-profit organization working towards facilitating opportunities to enable persons with disabilities and the underserved to keep pace with the rest of the society by providing quality education, accommodation, nutritious food, vocational training and placement based rehabilitation founded in 1997, It is based in Bangalore, India with centres across India and abroad. The organization is affiliated to the World Blind Union and received Special UN Consultative Status in 2015.
We learnt a lot about the place and also there were mid-age children with disabilities and children of single parents this is basically a residential school with well-trained teachers, the schools provide a safe haven for the underprivileged while providing quality education. Our team was welcomed by a heartwarming welcome song performance by the children followed by a fun-filled session of extra-curricular activities the children got a chance to showcase their talent with performances of dances and singing by every individual.
It was heart-warming to see that these children had a true sincere smile. The only thing we could give them was love and affection and that we gave them in abundance.
We organised a lunch for them at their place and it was a great feeling having seated with them and having the meal. At times, we crib for so many things in life, not realising how easily we can get satisfaction in small things. Just that you need to “count your blessing” and “name them one by one” and “it will surprise you what the Lord hath done”.
These children will appreciate the most because they expect nothing from you, they are very innocent. The only love they have is that of the people with whom they live or live around so that anyone who gives them the feeling to feel special will make them happier. We spoke to them and this is the greatest lesson we learned there: giving true happiness is above all that exists in the world. The greatest happiness of life is in giving and sharing and treating everyone on an equal footing. When you go to these places, you become selfless and thank God for his goodness for giving you all the luxury and necessities of life.
We need to be thankful to God that we have someone to call our own. It was a perfect visit that not only made us better but also a more generous human being.
Secondly, to all those who have made it till here 😀 we want to wish everyone a very Happy Diwali. May almighty give you all the immense pleasure in life and fulfill all your wishes. This year, do the environment a favour and celebrate a clean and green Diwali festival 🙂
